Venue

VILNIUS IS A DAILY SOURCE OF INSPIRATION FOR OUR CONFERENCE.

The idea of We are Museums was born when we first visited Vilnius in early 2012.
We fell in love with the city’s incredible cultural dynamism and uniqueness
and were struck by the unquestionable need to build bridges
between cultural institutions and their somehow unaware audiences.

Shaped by its past, buzzing with fresh creativity,
Vilnius boasts a UNESCO World Heritage-protected city centre
dating back to the 14th century, and the true heart of the city’s history.
Behind the city’s castle, sculpted facades and many churches,
are layers of a rich and complex history just waiting to explored.

CONTEMPORARY ART CENTRE (SMC)

Unique and huge working space + cutting edge institution = all the right ingredients for creativity!

The Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) is the largest venue for contemporary art in the Baltic States, with an exhibition space of 2400 square meters. The CAC is a non-collection based institution committed to developing a broad range of international and Lithuanian exhibition projects as well as presenting a wide range of public programmes including lectures, seminars, performances, film and video screenings, and live new music events.

Many airlines fly to Vilnius International Airport. If you’re flying from within Europe, your cheapest options is one of the low-cost airlines that fly to Vilnius: airBaltic, Ryanair, Wizz Air.
Check their websites to see if they offer flights to Vilnius from your place.

If you’re flying from outside of Europe, you’ll probably need to book a flight with a traditional airline. You can find the lowest fares on flight search engines like Skyscanner, Expedia, etc.
Get more information about your flight and the airport here.

The advised fare for a taxi ride from the airport is about 15 LT ( approximately 5,6$ or 4,5 €)
